Laura, I am using Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper. I'm using the back of it, which has a bit less tooth. I do burnish...I find it gives a richer look to my drawings, and I find they don't look complete unless I do. Usually I use a colourless blender at the end, but this time I'm trying something new. After reading Christine Langman's (Big Cat Art) tutorial, I decided to try her technique. I really like it - It's different, and you can't put many more layers over it (as I'm finding out!), but I'm liking the effect. It's interesting to see how she does it.
It looks geat....I especially the eye.

This is coming along beautifully Heather. Can I ask what paper you are working on and if you are doing a lot of burnishing?
ReplyDeleteI never burnish myself as I'm always paranoid of loosing the tooth of the paper but I'm always interested in artists who do and their technique:)
Thanks LP!
