As always, the colours are a little off when you view the drawing on the computer screen. The original isn't quite so red/orange. I wish I had a scanner that would scan the colours exactly like the original, but I'm sure I would have to pay a lot of money for one!

Toby looks beautiful to me Heather but I share your frustrations about colours.
I read a commentary recently about using a calibration package to standardise your monitors/printers but looks as though the cost is around £100 so you have to be certain it will work for you :o)
Thanks Sue! It's hard when you're used to looking at the colours of the actual drawing and then see the over-vibrant colours on the computer screen. It always looks better in real life, doesn't it?
That calibration package is a bit pricey! The colour difference really isn't that big of a problem I suppose, just for me! I guess I can suck it up until I can get a new scanner. I hope to get an 11x14 scanner one day.

For color correction - do you have Photoshop or Corel PSP? You could color correct there - still, it's always going to be off from the original. I've had the same problem for years! I think I've color matched a digital pic, but it's so far off from the scan I regret even posting it!

I use Macromedia Fireworks for all of my "photoshopping" and I've fiddled around with it as much as I can to try and get the right colours. I've learned to be somewhat satisfied with a close approximation because it's really only me and the client who will know the difference!
Something I've discovered is that my coloured pencil drawings look great as black and white prints...sometimes even better than the coloured scans! I'm thinking I'm going to offer the B&W's as cards and prints as well.
